Dr. Roland Pilat

Dr. Roland Pilat was born and raised in central Europe, where he finished his studies at the School of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM title in 1979. After one year in the military, he joined the faculty at the School of Veterinary Medicine in Kosice, Slovakia as an Assistant Professor of Internal Diseases and stayed until 1983, when he left academia to pursue his passion to practice veterinary medicine in the field.

After moving to the USA, he worked at the New York Medical College in New York, and later finished residency at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge, LA. In 1999 he became an owner of Cenla Animal Clinic in Pinevile LA, where he has a predominantly small animal practice.

Dr. Pilat’s passions include motorcycles, cars, traveling, and good Louisiana food. He and his wife, Renata, a pediatrician in Pineville, have been happily married since 1977. Together, they have a son, Martin, a radiologist in Dallas, TX, who is married to Addie, an attorney. They also have a daughter, Barb, who is a lawyer in Baton Rouge. Benjamin and Sofia, their beautiful grandchildren, are their pride and joy, who they enjoy spoiling relentlessly.

Dr. April Brown

Dr. Brown was born and raised in Leesville, LA. She attended University of Louisiana Monroe where she earned a B.S. in Biology in 1997. She later attended LSU School of Veterinary medicine and recieved her DVM title in 2002. She then did a rotating small animal medicine amd surgery intership at Veterinary Specialists of SouthFlorida inCooper CIty, FL. SHe then moved to New York CIty and completed a residency in small animal intership medicine at the Animal Medical Center in New York, NY. Dr. Brown has worked as an internalist in New York, Florida, California, and Louisiana. She worked as an emergency veterinarian in Lake Charles, LA before moving to Alexandria and joing the Cenla Animal Clinic tean in Pineville, LA in 2015. She has a beautiful daughter named Amelia. She also has a French bulldog names Gibbs and a cat named Franchesca. Her favorite place to be is at the beach, and enjoys spending time with her family.

Michele Brown


Michele Brown is Dr. Pilat’s veterinary technician. She has been with Cenla Animal Clinic for the past 21 years.
